      <image:title>Lizzie Wedderburn - Counselling - My Background</image:title>
<image:caption>As a queer, trans+/non-binary person, I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and I'm well versed in gender, relationship and sexuality diversity, which serves me well for all clients no matter their identity. I follow an anti-oppressive approach that creates an open and welcoming space where my clients are free to bring their whole self to our sessions; particularly the parts that stay hidden due to mistreatment, discrimination and oppression.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Lizzie Wedderburn - Counselling - My Experience</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a qualified integrative counsellor and an accredited member of the NCPS. I approach my clients as individuals, there is no one-size-fits-all therapy when it comes to people, their identities, relationships and emotions. The reasons my clients come to counselling are very varied and often there is more to the story than what is on the surface. I have worked with feelings of anxiety, depression, loneliness, stress, anger, fear and trauma responses to name a few, but ultimately I work with people's emotional responses to their life. I hear a lot of clients say that they want to change something about themself, but what I witness is people stepping into themselves to become who they already are.</image:caption>

<image:title>Anti-Oppressive Counselling - I am an affirmative counsellor and I believe that the cultural context of our lives is integral to processing how we feel about ourselves and the world around us. The rules and expectations of society can feel draining and for those who fall outside of cultural norms this may be overwhelming.</image:title>
<image:caption>On top of the daily stressors that everyone faces, those with marginalised identites experience Minority Stress as a result of the interpersonal and systemic discrimination they face. This may go unoticed and leave you feeling like you are not good enough for not being able to 'cope' with life, you may even experience feelings of anxiety and/or depression. Over time this can lead to self-gaslighting thoughts such as "I'm being too sensitive" or "It's not that bad and other people have it worse than me" and we can start to gently challenge this in our work together.</image:caption>
